When I was a kid I really got my moneys worth out of my baseball cards. I pored over all the statistics, read all the "on this date in nineteen sixty something mr. so-n-so pitched a one hitter in the Sally League" milestones, enjoyed all the comics, and of course, loved the obscure did you know factoids. Well, now I'm a grownup and can do my own did you knows.

I'm doing this because sometimes I run into stuff that is so interesting I have to share it, but it's not a whole article's worth of information. This will probably be an off and on feature, as I accumulate new factoids that can't be extrapolated into a whole article. I hope you enjoy this.

The 75th Anniversary of the NFL, what dizzying times. Beautiful, ugly, and several in between made appearances that year. Reguardless of each teams throwback schedule, all teams had their regular unis made up with 75th Anniversary patches for use during the regular season. In other words, obtaining the 75th Anniversary Throwbacks themselves can be a hit and miss proposition, but everybody's regular 75th Anniversary jersey was available for purchase. Why I'm bringing this up is two reasons. One is the did you know-DID YOU KNOW THAT THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY PATCH HAS HAY SEWN INTO THE 7? Yea I know. I thought I was hallucinating too. The other little tidbit to this article is-what's up with the Raiders and Steelers? Any team's authentic can be had for $100, except the Raiders, with all their fancy jersey design, theirs will set you back $115. Why? Not to be outdone, the Steelers one will set you back $130. Was this jersey 30% better than the rest of the NFL?

Back in the mid 1980's adidas was a much different company than it is today. Rob Strasser and his buddies had not yet left Nike to form adidas America. adidas was in the athletic shoe game for sure, but when it came to apparel, especially outfitting teams, they weren't quite as well equipped for that then as they are now. Check out this little did you know-DID YOU KNOW BACK IN THE DAY AN ADIDAS AND INDIANA BASKETBALL LOGO WERE SLAPPED ON A NICE LOOKIN ISLE OF COTTON SWEATER, AND GIVEN TO BOB KNIGHT TO WEAR? I don't know why this seems so fascinating to me, but knowing adidas didn't have anything for coach Knight to wear, and somebody had to shop for a nice sweater, and then take it to get an adidas logo and INDIANA BASKETBALL sewn onto it, well, I find it all very satisfying.

DID YOU KNOW WHAT ICHIRO LOOKS LIKE IN SPANDEX ZUBAS? Now you do.
